2019 is winding down but there’s still a lot of time left in the year. My family and I love this time of year. We’re able to spend more time outside because the temperature is dropping. Nights can be chilly but the days are still warm and sunny. Weekends are spent in bed watching movies recounting our week, playing at the beach, and taking in lots of holiday happenings in our area. We’d love for you to come celebrate with us. I’d love to partner up with you so please feel free to reach out if you’ve got another idea I didn’t mention.
Here are a few of the highlights:
This year I’ll be focusing on updating and creating the following gift guide lists. As you’ll notice from my current gift guides, they’re created to be shared and used throughout the year – not just specific to the holiday season.
- Kids (infants, toddlers, tweens/teens, screen free toys, tech toys, educational toys, art/creative)
- Moms (self care/relaxation, cooking/baking, mom boss, spiritual, journaling/planning)
- Dads (outdoors, sports, grilling, automotive)
- Travel (packing, road trips, gifting travel, destinations, experiences)
Other topics to be covered:
- Self care during the holiday season
- Creating traditions with your loved ones
- Capturing memories during the holidays
- Holiday travel tips and tricks
- Giving back during the holiday season and throughout the year
- Staying healthy during the holidays
- Holiday baking
- Preparing for holiday guests
- What to wear to your holiday festivities
Live Event Topics
Several times during the year I host local in person events that are like a “moms night out”. We gather and have time to socialize while I also share about products and services that I personally love and use to help solve problems that my community shares. These are fairly informal events that I host because moms need some time out by themselves to meet other moms and not feel so alone. I also believe that word of mouth is powerful and by personally telling them about products and services I’ve used and had success with means more than just seeing a social media post about it.
August – back to school focus Moms have asked for ideas to help make mealtimes easier, as well as how to feed those sports teams their kids are playing on. They’ve also asked for help coordinating and getting into a new schedule with school, activities, and work.
October – Halloween Moms specifically requested Halloween party ideas both to host at home and for school parties including food, games, and treat bags. They’re also looking for costume ideas for their families that they can purchase or make themselves.
November – Thanksgiving and Christmas During this time of year, moms are looking for new family tradition ideas (including traveling during the holidays), ways to make their meals ahead of time – and how to serve a meal when they don’t cook themselves – and prep for holiday meals and gatherings, and ideas to give back and get involved in their community. They also want to know more about saving for the holidays and how to save money on gifts. I’ve gotten a lot of requests about how to gift travel and experiences as well as provide stocking stuffer ideas.
Learn more about me and my family as well as both blogs in my media kit and learn more about how we can work together here. You can also find more information below. My numbers are small at this point but my readers and community are loyal. They trust my recommendations for products and services. I also have a budget to boost social media posts to increase the views and interactions.
I look forward to working with you this year!
My kids all love spending time in the kitchen. One thing we do during the holiday season is baking. Instead of getting gifts for family and friends they might not use, we make some yummy treats to show our love and appreciation for them and spend our money doing things together throughout the year. Our time together in the kitchen is priceless for me and I hope we’re able to make more flour-covered memories for years to come. We do everything from make cookies for Santa to cookie plates for my co-workers and gingerbread houses to freezer meals as gifts.
Experiencing the Sights and Sounds
Christmas is my favorite time of year. We are lucky enough to have a large Christmas light display locally and an even larger one a bit further away. Usually we’ll make a day of the display a little further away then spend the evening walking and driving through the light display, stopping to ride the train or make smores over the campfire. Decorations abound at our house and we also visit other local places hosting holiday events. The time we spend together is the perfect holiday gift.
The school break for the holidays gives us lots of extra time at home. While life still has to happen and chores still need to get done, there’s a lot of fun in the mix too. Movie nights, game nights, special ice cream dinners, and sleepovers with friends are all part of the break.
