When The Crayola Experience Orlando reached out to invite us to spend a day with them, I knew my youngest daughter would be excited but I wasn’t too sure about my boys. Being older, I didn’t know how a day of coloring would go over with them. As the trip grew closer and we did a little more research, the boys grew more excited.
Location
The Crayola Experience Orlando is located in The Florida Mall. If you haven’t made time to visit The Florida Mall yet, you need to make a visit on your next trip to Orlando. There’s so much to do at the mall that you will find something for everyone in your group to enjoy. The mall is so big there’s even a hotel there! The Crayola Experience has it’s own entrance so it’s easy to find from the outside.
Pricing
Each guest does need a ticket to enter and participate in The Crayola Experience. Be sure to check out the different special offers to see what applies to your family. Keep that in mind while you’re visiting the experience. Each ticketed member of your party is able to participate in each of the different activities offered. Annual passes are also available if you’re more local or visit Orlando frequently. Included with the admission cost, you’ll get a clear plastic bag with handles that contains two coins. Those coins will come in handy at a couple of experiences.
Interaction
Each of the different activity stations has some level of interaction. The only spot you’ll be able to just sit and watch is during the show where you learn how crayons are made. Everything else will require you to show a little bit of creativity. Now’s the time to let out your inner child and get back in touch with the fun of coloring and creating. From stations to color on coloring sheets to stations where you can make your masterpieces come alive on the screen, and creating your creature to dance to painting with crayon wax, you’re going to be busy for several hours.
Size
The Crayola Experience Orlando has lots of room to spread out. This helps from it feeling like everyone is on top of each other. Within the Experience, not only will you find 20+ activities, there’s also a snack area and dining area. The Crayola Experience also has family restrooms and nursing areas to accommodate families. Your kids will have room to explore and create without you wondering where they are or what they’re up to.
Play Areas
Inside, you’ll find a large playground as well as a separate play area for toddlers. Neither play area is too large that you won’t be able to keep an eye on the kiddos, but still large enough for them to burn off some energy if needed. Kids are required to take their shoes off to enjoy the playground so be sure to bring a pair of socks if you don’t want them running around in their bare feet.
Not Just Experiences
Not only will the kids have the memories of their experiences from the day at The Crayola Experience, they’ll also have some fun things they’ll be able to bring home with them. Don’t worry about bringing home any wet creations either – there are drying machines available to keep your car from bring covered in crayon wax. You’ll be making your own crayon labels, putting yourself in a color page, molding creations out of clay, and painting with wax. Be prepared to fill the bag they give you when you arrive.
More Fun
We even got to meet Purple Crayon!! This was a huge deal for us because purple is my daughter’s favorite color ever!!! She insisted that we stop and say hello so we made a little detour on the way to the show about how crayons are made. He was out again later so I got to hi too.
But I’m Not Creative…
Don’t worry! You don’t have to be. The Crayola Experience Orlando allows you to do what you’d like at the different stations. If you’re feeling stuck or aren’t sure what to do, they’ve got directions to help you recreate the different projects. It’s nice to have some direction if you need it but not have to follow it if you want to create something different.
