There’s not much better than an evening by the fire, roasting marshmallows to make smores and spending time with people you adore. Besides the basic chocolate bar, there are tons of ways to make a smore unique.
Outside
Graham crackers are the traditional outside of a smore but there are lots of other options. Vanilla wafers, baked pretzel thins or your favorite cookie would do a great job holding the melty goodness together for you.
Sweetness
Yes a plain chocolate bar is the classic way to make it, but even the chocolate bar has lots of options – almonds, cookies and cream, dark chocolate. Just about any candy bar will work for you (some might need to be cut to fit or purchase the fun size instead). Peppermints or peanut butter treats would be a delicious addition as well.
Spreads
A regular smore doesn’t have a spread of anything but we’re not making regular smores tonight! Hazelnut spread, jelly, caramel ice cream topping (a thicker variety will work best) or peanut butter spread onto your outside choice will add even more flavor to your smore.
Marshmallows
You can stick with a plain marshmallow and roast it but now there are so many flavors of marshmallows to choose from. Or if you’re feeling brave, take a shot at making your own marshmallows. You can even get marshmallow spread if you don’t want to waste time roasting your marshmallows.
