Welcome to this month’s Blogorail Teal loop. Today we are sharing fun ideas for a Star Wars themed movie night.
Being a mom of two boys, I had to embrace my lack of love for The Force early on. When my little princess joined the picture, I thought I might have someone else on my side but she’s gone to the Dark Side too and is a Star Wars fan. Of course the full length movies are the classics, but they’re a little in depth for the smaller fans. My kiddos were excited to see the Lego Star Wars because it combines two of their loves – Legos and Star Wars.
Because these are shorter episodes, your “movie night” can consist of multiple episodes or you can keep it short and sweet for the shorter attention spans. Here are some ideas for your Lego Star Wars movie night:
- Colors: keep the basic Star Wars colors in mind – black and white. You can add in other touches that might play into the episode you’re watching but you’re always safe with black and white.
- Decor: to go along with the Lego aspect of the movie night, think square. Square plates or napkins are easy to find at your dollar store, serve your food on square plates or even make your food in squares themselves.
- Food: sticking with the square theme, things like pizza cut into squares (use pepperoni, olives or pieces of mozzarella cheese at the dots on your bricks), finger jello, brownies and cheese cubes are simple things to munch on while watching your show. Your food could also go with a black and white theme with chocolate sandwich cookies or grilled cheese (use pumpernickel bread for the dark part and mozzarella or white american cheese) and you can never go wrong with a play on Star Wars characters or snacks you can make at home.
- Activities: since it is a Lego Star Wars night, grab your Legos and create your favorite scene or characters from Star Wars. Here are some directions to make R2D2 and C3PO to get you started.
Do you have a favorite Lego Star Wars episode? What do you like to snack on while you’re watching?

Well done Lynn! Great suggestions for some easy snacks to go with good episodes or movies, either one! Thanks for sharing with us.
Great ideas, Lynn! Perfect for the littles and when I have my nieces and nephews over for visits. We love themed visits. Their short attention spans are no joke, gotta keep the activities and snacks flowing!
