How to Make Strawberry Dip

Strawberries are one of the fruits all three of my kids will eat.  In the spring when they’re in season here, we drive to a local farm to pick our own (then head to the beach ’cause that’s how it works in the south).  Thankfully they don’t weigh my kids when we’re picking strawberries because they make sure to taste test the berries while they’re picking.  Of course they’ll eat their strawberries just the way they are, but sometimes a little variety is good too.  This quick and easy strawberry dip is the perfect thing to dip those strawberries in and enjoy them.

What do I need to make strawberry dip?

You’ve probably already got most of what you need on hand to make this strawberry dip:

• 8oz Whipped Topping
• 15oz Box Strawberry Cake Mix
• 8oz Strawberry Cream Cheese
• 1/4 Cup Milk
• Cookies & Strawberries(For Dunking)

Can’t find strawberry cream cheese or only have plain on hand?  Don’t stress!  Your dip will still be delicious.  It just won’t have as much of a strawberry punch of flavor that it will when you use the strawberry cream cheese.

Need a little texture to your dip?  Consider chopping up some strawberries and mixing them in.  Or make your own take on a chocolate covered strawberry and mix in some chocolate chips or chocolate covered candies.

Because it may not be safe to eat raw cake batter, it’s best to heat treat your flour before making your dip.  Normally you don’t have to worry about this because you bake your cake in the oven and it takes care of this step for you.  Dump your cake into a microwave safe bowl and cook it in the microwave for about 90 seconds.

Once that’s finished, add in the whipped topping, cream cheese, and milk.  Mix that all together well and make sure everything is incorporated.

You can stop right here and pop this dip into the refrigerator until you’re ready to enjoy it if you’re making it in advance. Just remember that this will need to sit out for a little bit for the cream cheese to soften back up before you’re ready to dig in and enjoy it.

If you’ll be eating your right away, put your dip out with some of your favorite sweet snack foods to enjoy this dip.  Things like strawberries, vanilla wafers, sugar wafers, or chocolate sandwich cookies would be great with this.
