A school day is full of structure, learning and fun. No reason that shouldn’t continue after school as well. The first week or two of school can be really tough since homework and activities haven’t really started yet. But once things start to fall into place, it’s a good idea to have a routine for after school. Every family will have different priorities and things to include but that’s ok. You can make this work!
Have a dedicated homework spot.
Send the kids to the same spot each night to work on their homework. They’ll get comfortable working in a familiar spot and you’ll only have one spot to look for homework during the morning rush out the door when they forget to put it back in their backpacks.
Stock the supplies.
Eliminate the excuses by having some basic supplies on hand. Can’t find a pencil? Mom’s got a bin of them stashed in the closet. No markers to make that poster? Never fear! Mom picked up an extra pack on clearance and you’re back in business.
Keep it clean.
Put everything away when the homework’s done. Try to prevent craziness in the morning searching for lost homework by having it all put away before heading off to bed.
What things do you do at home to make homework time easier for everyone?
Such a nice article 🙂
I have a baby boy who is 6 years old and he doesn’t like to do homework. Firstly, I feel tensed that he doesn’t like to do the study but then I thought an idea. I tried to make his homework in an enjoyable way. Now, he loves to do his homework and he learns the things more easily and happily. I would recommend to every parent to make the things simpler, enjoyable and happier for your kids so that they don’t feel burdened or stressed.
