This summer I had the chance to stay at the Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek. Looking through the pictures posted on line, I got super excited about visiting this resort. Then I got super sad because I knew how much my kids would love it and they weren’t going to be with me for this trip.
About the Resort
You couldn’t ask for a better location for a resort. While it’s not on Disney property, Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek is as close as you can get. From our room, you could see the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Spaceship Earth in Epcot. Thanks to a scavenger hunt, I got to explore both the Hilton and Waldorf Astoria resort that’s connected. If you’re visiting the Orlando area to spend time at a Disney theme park, shuttles are provided. The resort is also a Good Neighbor resort so you’re able to take advantage of the perks of staying at a Disney resort without staying at a Disney resort.
Dining Options
There’s no shortage of places to eat while you’re at the resort. Off the lobby, there are a quick service walk up place, a bar area, and a sit down Italian restaurant. Don’t feel like leaving your room? There’s always room service. Out by the pool? They’ve got you covered there too with a bar outside as well. Other options are available if none of those sound appealing to you. And if you can’t find anything at the Hilton, walk next store to the Waldorf Astoria to enjoy those options as well. I personally got a cheeseburger and fries from the pool bar and it was very good. Prices seemed pretty comparable to resort prices.
Pool
You could spend all day at the pool. With a lazy river, slide, movies at night, and a view of the fireworks, make sure you make time for pool time during your visit. The pool isn’t super deep so you won’t have to worry too much about the kiddos while they’re swimming.
Floats are also provided so you’ll be able to enjoy the lazy river without having to bring your own tubes with you. Ample towels were out around the pool as well so no need to bring them from your room.
The pool is also heated so regardless of the time of year you visit, you’ll be able to enjoy to enjoy it.
Rooms
Our room was large, spacious, and full of amenities. The only thing it didn’t have that I would have liked was a separate area to wash up and put makeup on from the bathroom. There was plenty of space to lay things out and charge things (which was awesome because I was there for a conference so there were lots of things to plug in). We also made use of the mini fridge that was in our room.
Meetings, Conferences, and Weddings
I was visiting the Hilton because of BlogHer and the spaces they had were great. They’ve got a variety of rooms in different sizes so I’m sure they have a room that will fit your needs if you’re looking for a place to host your next event in Orlando. And the grounds are beautiful and would be a perfect backdrop for your wedding. Don’t worry if you’re staying while there’s a conference or event happening. The rooms are apart from the guest rooms so you shouldn’t be too impacted by events happening. One thing to keep in mind is that restaurants and bars are going to be busy when events let out for dinner or as attendees are heading to their conference grabbing breakfast on the way. If you’re able to, try to avoid those busier times.
Have you spent time at the Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek? What was your favorite thing to do?
