Life can just be crazy sometimes. Running from soccer practice to band practice to the grocery store is exhausting. Let alone work, chores at home, and actually spending time with your family. For most moms I know, taking care of themselves always seems to fall to the bottom of the list so they have more time to take care of their family. Also for most moms I know, they’d love to be in better shape but schedules (and budgets) just don’t allow for time at the gym or working out at home.
Find Something You Both Enjoy
If your kids are into sports, they’re likely already pretty active during their practices but practice at home in addition to their required practices. This is a great chance for you to help your children practice and for you to get out and moving. Or use your time while your child’s at their practice to get yourself moving. Walk laps around their field instead of catching up on Facebook in your car (I know, I know….I’d rather sit and scroll sometimes too but after a few days, you’ll look forward to moving too. I promise!). Your kids aren’t into sports? That’s ok too! Head to a local park and chase them around a bit. Play tag. Throw a frisbee or ball. Play basketball or tennis on your local courts (or in your driveway). It doesn’t have to be anything fancy. And you’ll be spending time with your kids which is priceless.
You tell your kids to make sure they’re drinking enough water throughout the day, but are you?? I bet you make sure your kids have their sports drinks and snacks when they head off for their games. Make sure you take care of yourself just the same. BODYARMOR is a great choice. I prefer it because it’s something that all of us like so I only have to buy one brand instead of trying to keep track of what everyone likes. And if you’re concerned about all the calories, don’t be! BODYARMOR LYTE has the same nutrient as the original version but is sweetened naturally and only has 20 calories per serving. The BODYARMOR SportWater is another great choice. It has electrolytes, a pH of 8+, and fits perfectly in your bag to carry with you. I like the wide mouth bottle and that it comes in different sizes too (20 oz., 23.7 oz. Sports Cap and 1 Liter bottles).
