Christmas is my favorite time of year. Things are bright and cheery yet still feel warm and cozy. There’s not much better than being snuggled up on the couch watching your favorite Christmas movie by Christmas tree light. One thing that’s a close second is going to look at Christmas lights. This free printable Christmas light scavenger hunt can make your outing even more fun.
Check out your local neighborhood for light displays. Before you head out, make sure you print off the Christmas light scavenger hunt checklist. You can walk through the neighborhood or drive around to look at different displays. Let the kids mark off the different things as they spot them. If you’re going to see lights on more than one night, you can put the checklist in a plastic page protector or laminate it to use it more than once. Let the kids mark things off with a dry erase marker.
It can be a contest to see who can mark all the boxes off first. Or you can take a bingo style approach to see who can get a row or column checked off first. If you’re going to one of those large walk through displays, you could even let the kids take pictures of the different things on the checklist. Going through the pictures on the way back home will make the ride home a little more exciting.
