One my son’s favorite things to get while we’re at Disney is a Dole Whip. It’s the one line he’ll stand in without complaining and it’s the one thing he needs every time we visit. Since we can’t get to Disney as often as we’d like, I had to find a way for him to be able to enjoy his favorite snack at home too. Put your Dole Whip mixture into some super cute Disney molds or into a cup or bowl (or just eat it straight out of the blender if you can’t wait…no judgement).
The great thing about making your own Dole Whip at home is that they’re so easy. My son can make these himself (I supervise – especially the blender part) which makes him happy. They don’t take a lot of time to put together – 10 minutes or less. You’ll have to be patient while they freeze though (or drink your mixture through a straw).
All you need to make your very own Dole Whip at home is some frozen pineapple (2 cups) and milk (1 1/2 cups). See? I told you it was easy! Since you’re the chef, you can also make these “adult” Dole Whips too by adding in a bit of your favorite alcohol. Freeze your Dole Whips into ice cubes for your favorite adult beverage.
Grab your frozen pineapple and put it into your blender. Start our by adding one cup of milk and blend. Keep adding more milk until you get to a thick ice cream consistency.
Now is the time to put your into the mold. It’ll take about two hours in the freezer until it’s solid. You can add toothpicks or popsicle sticks to your molds and eat them like a popsicle once frozen if you’d like. Serve as a snack while you’re watching your favorite Disney movie or planning your next trip.
